Working to lower the burden on middle-class families and put our economy back on track, Rep. Debbie Halvorson (IL-11) announced today that tax cuts passed in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which Halvorson supported, have benefitted 288,000 families throughout the 11th District of Illinois, and 95 percent of working families across America.
"Our families are fighting to get by and trying to find a way to cope with an economy that is still struggling to recover. These tax breaks are critical to keeping more money in the pockets of taxpayers, so they can help bring our economy back," said Halvorson. "The Recovery Act that we passed one year ago contained one of the largest middle-class tax cuts in history, and benefits more families in our district than any other district in our state. I will continue to fight for our middle-class to improve our economy, and deliver investments and relief that will put people back to work and get people back on their feet."
Halvorson has a strong record of reducing financial burdens on middle-class families; fighting for tax credits for first time home buyers, families with children, and families looking to purchase new vehicles.
