Chelsea Marie Bourque is currently a senior at Southridge High School in Kennewick. An accomplished athlete, school record holder and state champion in several track disciplines, Chelsea plans on participating on the Air Force Academy's Track and Field team. Throughout her high school career, Chelsea has achieved high academic success, earning numerous student of the month awards, while also serving as a member of the student government. In addition to her scholastic achievements, Chelsea has volunteered in her community for numerous organizations, including summer day camps and her church. Her service and leadership, in addition to her strong academic record, have proven Chelsea worthy of selection to the United States Air Force Academy.

"Congratulations to Chelsea and her family for this great achievement," said Hastings. "Her strong high school record and commitment to others have proven her worthy of admission to the Air Force Academy. I know that she will follow honorably in the footsteps of previous graduates like Olympic track champion Alonzo Babers, former U.S. Representative Heather Wilson, and Medal of Honor winner and POW Captain Lance Sijan. It is an honor for me to announce that Chelsea Bourque has been accepted to the Air Force Academy, where she will make an excellent cadet and an outstanding officer."
