U.S. Representative Kevin Brady (R-TX), the Lead House Republican on the Joint Economic Committee, issued the following statement today in support of C-SPAN's request to televise all health care reform negotiations:

"No more backroom deals, no more hidden paybacks in exchange for votes. I strongly support C-SPAN's request to televise these critical negotiations. While the American people continue to speak out loudly against government bureaucrats making their intimate health care decisions, the Democrats who control Congress prefer to shut the conference room doors and break President Obama's campaign promise that all health care negotiations be televised on C-SPAN. That is why I implore all my colleagues - on both sides of the aisle - to join me in supporting the public's right to know."
