Dede favors responsible health care reforms that will lead to better coverage, affordability and availability. She opposes cutting funding to Medicare as a means to pay for any health care plan. She's also against eliminating tax benefits for employers who provide health insurance. Dede also believes in significantly reforming the tort laws. This will lead to the reduction of frivolous lawsuits against doctors; reining in out-of-control costs of malpractice insurance, which gets passed on to patients in the form of higher premiums. Lastly, Dede favors empowering small businesses and self-employed entrepreneurs -- the job-creating engines and lifeblood of our economy -- to buy affordable coverage for their employees.
