From the Road: Health Care Forum

Statement

Date: Sept. 3, 2009

Throughout my travels across North Carolina recently, health care reform has been the most talked about issue everywhere I have been. On Tuesday, I had the opportunity to attend a health care forum with Senator John McCain of Arizona and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky at Levine Children's Hospital on the campus of Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. We addressed a crowd of over 150 people including doctors, nurses, hospital staff, and other health care professionals and discussed the key issues of promoting prevention and wellness, expanding access to the uninsured, and making sure that reforms will not burden future generations with mountains of debt. I encourage you to watch this video clip with excerpts from the forum.

I have greatly appreciated the opportunity to speak with North Carolinians from across the state and from all different backgrounds to get their feedback on health care reform and how it would impact them. As this debate continues, it is vital that everyone's voice is heard. To read more about my position on health care reform, please click here.
