Statement

"Today the U.S. House has taken an important step towards protecting our environment, ending America's dependence on foreign oil, creating millions of new jobs and establishing the United States as a leader in renewable energy. While this bill is far from perfect, it does support a market-driven approach to create new, greener energy technologies that will ultimately provide greater economic security and enhanced national security. The legislation also provides rebates, credits and grants for low-income families, non-profits and neighborhood organizations to help everyone share in a more secure energy future. Ultimately, this bill is about investing in a better world for our children and grandchildren and reaffirming our faith in American innovation and creativity."
