Lungren Statement On The Administration's Executive Order Allowing Taxpayer-Funded Abortions Overseas

Congressman Dan Lungren issued the following statement on President Obama's executive order overturning the Mexico City policy, which prohibited taxpayer-funded abortions through international groups:

"Today I was disappointed to read the Administration's executive order to allow the use of American taxpayer money to fund abortions overseas. I do not believe government should use money from hard working Americans to subsidize abortion services in the United States or in foreign countries. At a time when our country is faced with serious economic problems and difficult choices at home, the timing of this shift in our nation's policy could not be worse and sends the wrong message to the rest of the world concerning the respect for innocent human life."
