Congressman Lincoln Davis, whose 4th Congressional District includes the GM Spring Hill facility, released the following statement this morning in response to the news the plant will be idled:
"Today's news is unquestionably distressing for the families of General Motors employees, and my heart goes out to each and every worker, especially those in Tennessee," said Congressman Lincoln Davis. "I am encouraged our Spring Hill plant is not among those on the permanent closure list, and I pledge to continue serving as an advocate and ambassador for our factory's workers with General Motors' headquarters in Detroit. General Motors announced last week they will begin production on a new small car at a plant in standby in the coming years, and it is my sincere hope we can bring that work to Spring Hill."
