Wicker Statement on Dr. Dan Jones and Dr. Hank Bounds

U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today praised the selections of Dr. Dan Jones as the next Chancellor of the University of Mississippi and Dr. Hank Bounds as the Commissioner of the Institutions of Higher Learning.

"Dr. Jones has done an exceptional job as Vice Chancellor at the University of Mississippi Medical School and will be able to hit the ground running in Oxford from day one. I have worked closely with him over the years and have always valued that relationship. I am excited about the opportunity to work with him in this new capacity to help advance the mission of higher education in our state."

"Dr. Bounds is one of the outstanding young educators in America, and we are fortunate to have him as our State Superintendent.
