Honoring Fallen Heroes This Memorial Day

U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., encourages all Americans to take the opportunity to honor the men and women who gave their lives in the fight for freedom and those who continue to serve and protect the country this Memorial Day, May 25.

"This day is important for us to reflect on the turbulent times that our nation has faced in times of war and honor those who have selflessly defended us. I encourage all Americans to participate in the parades, wreath laying and other ceremonies across the country today and show their respect to our servicemen and women.

"My wife, Diana, and I ask everyone to take the time and thank a veteran from the conflicts our country has faced. Also, remember to thank your friends and family and the people you see every day that you love for their support."

An honor flight of 110 World War II veterans from across Wyoming came to Washington, D.C. on May 19-20 to visit the memorial built in their honor. Senator Enzi met up with the veterans the night they arrived at the Wyoming Proud Honor Flight Banquet. The following day, the veterans visited the memorial and met with members of the Wyoming delegation and Diana.
