Bennet Statement on 10th Anniversary of Columbine Shooting

Michael Bennet, Senator for Colorado, released the following statement regarding the 10th anniversary of the tragic shooting that took the lives of 13 people at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado:

"Ten years later, we pause to reflect on the lives that were lost and communities that were forever changed by the tragic events at Columbine High.

"While questions remain as to what lay behind these senseless acts of violence, we are also reminded that when faced with tragedy, people across Colorado and across this country came together, determined to begin the healing process and prevent events like this from ever happening again.

"As the father of three daughters, I cannot begin to imagine the pain felt by the families of the victims and survivors of Columbine. I can only join with all Coloradans to offer my thoughts and prayers, and a commitment to doing whatever it takes to make sure senseless tragedies like this never happen again."
