Dr. Paul Broun Announces Ranking Member Position and Subcommittee Assignments

Dr. Paul Broun today released his House Subcommittee assignments and Ranking Member position for the 111th Congress. Congressman Broun will serve as Ranking Member on Investigations and Oversight of the Science and Technology Committee; as Deputy Ranking Member on Intelligence, Information Sharing and Terrorism Risk Assessment of the Homeland Security Committee; and on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands of the Natural Resources Committee.

"I'm honored to accept these subcommittee assignments and positions. These placements will allow me to focus on important issues facing Georgians and help ensure the safety of all Americans," said Dr. Paul Broun.

Referring to Dr. Broun's position, Science and Technology Committee Ranking Member Ralph Hall (R-TX) said, "I am very pleased to appoint Rep. Broun to be Ranking Member of our Investigations and Oversight Subcommittee. His background as a physician will give him an excellent perspective when dealing with complicated scientific and technical issues. He also brings a unique perspective to the Committee because of his service on the Homeland Security Committee, Subcommittee on Emerging Threats, Cybersecurity, and Science and Technology. I am also very confident that Rep. Broun will play an important role in upholding scientific integrity and uncovering instances of waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement."
