Senator Jay Rockefeller today released the following statement after voting with his colleagues in the Senate to confirm Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State:
"Hillary Clinton is exceptionally qualified and prepared to lead our State Department during these uniquely challenging times. President Obama has been very clear that he will always put Americans' safety first and he has built a tremendous national security team that is ready on day one to protect us here at home. I have every confidence that as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton - my colleague and friend - will bolster our foreign policy and strengthen our nation at home and abroad. I am so very proud to have supported her nomination and wish her great success."
