LANKFORD RADIO AD TARGETS DAVIS'S FINANCIAL SECTOR FUNDING

$480,000 from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Big Financial Institutions

Conservative Congressional challenger Monty Lankford has released his second radio ad, targeting Democratic incumbent Lincoln Davis. The ad, entitled "Add it Up", slams Davis for taking $480,000 from many of the financial institutions that are at the center of the national economic crisis, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

"Davis sits on the Financial Services Committee that directly oversees this whole economic mess," said Lankford. "The fact that he and his liberal buddies did nothing to prevent this crisis, while raking in all of this cash, is a serious conflict of interest."

As a Nashville Public Radio article points out, Davis has taken over two-thirds of his campaign cash from special interest PACs. "Nearly $200,000 of that comes from financial, real estate, and insurance industries." (Nashville Public Radio - October 27th, 2008)

"Davis and his Democratic leaders Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi act like they had nothing to do with this economic crisis," said Lankford. "The fact is, they were happy to look the other way while they lined their pockets with money from the very groups that have sunk the economy. It's time that those in charge are held responsible, regardless of what party they are in."

Lankford, a small business owner in middle Tennessee, paid his way through Free Will Baptist Bible College with a welding job. Lankford will face Davis in the general election on November 4th.
