News 10 NBC - Last Minute Campaigning

Congressional hopeful Dan Maffei, says, "We're ready for game day, we're ready for it to come. We're going to make sure were on our best game possible"

With the "big game" just a couple days away, Republicans and Democrats are both, blitzing.

After morning pep rallies, dozens of volunteers hit the streets today handing out flyers.

For the candidates, this is the last weekend to meet with constituents, And hopefully, win their votes.

Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinalfo said, "It's always great to be able to talk to people about the issues that are important to them, and people are really paying attention as they should democracy is really at work in Monroe County"

Along with the economy, some of the issues concerning voters are keeping jobs in Western New York, Keeping taxes down, and being able to afford healthcare.

Of course, each candidate has a plan, But both teams know the only way to win, is to get voters to the polls.

Rick Dollinger, running for state Senate says, "we can change a lot but what we have to do is get people to vote first, change follows voting"

Monroe County Executive, Maggie Brooks says, "this is very much going to be about turnout. We have to do what we can in the 11th hour this weekend. We need to deliver our people and get them out to vote on Tuesday."

Experts predict voter turnout will be the highest in decades. The weather can play a big role in that. The temperature is expected to be in the upper 60's here.

"I've never seen people so interested in participating in the process so hopeful that there's going to be a real change," says Maffei
