Hello friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today. Last night, State Representative Stan Mayfield passed away after an 18 month battle with throat cancer. He was only 52 years old.

Stan was a good friend, who served the citizens of his district very well. He was an honorable public servant and always gave of himself for others. My heart aches for his family. His passing is a great loss to not only those who knew him, but to the entire State of Florida.

In Loving Memory,
Stan Mayfield
1955 - 2008

God Bless,

Bill
Important Reminders!!

Here are a few very important reminders as we move closer to Election Day.

• The last day to register to be eligible to vote in the General Election is OCTOBER 6th.

Voter registration forms are available at schools, libraries, city halls, and chambers of commerce. You can also download a form from the internet. Here is a link to the Florida Division of Elections where you can download a voter registration form and find other valuable voter information: http://election.dos.state.fl.us/voter-registration/voter-reg.shtml#voterApp

You can also find valuable information at your county Supervisor of Elections offices. Here is the contact information for the offices in the 15th Congressional District:

Brevard (321) 264-6740 http://www.brevardelections.org
Indian River (772) 226-3440 http://www.voteindianriver.com
Osceola (407) 742-6000 http://www.oscelections.org
Polk (863) 534-5888 http://www.polkelections.com

• Mailing your absentee ballots requires extra postage - it costs 59¢ (not just the standard first class 42¢ stamp). So spread the word "Two Stamps for Safety"!
• When you go to your home precinct on Election Day, the form of ID that you present will be verified for your photo and signature only. The address on your driver's license (for instance) does not have to match the address of your voter's registration.
• There is no dress code for voting. Voters are permitted to wear any campaign paraphernalia they wish into the polling room. Florida Law does prohibit active campaigning (soliciting a vote for a candidate, passing out brochures, etc.) within 100 feet of the polling room, however.

We Need Your Help!

With only 34 days left until the General Election, there is a LOT going on with the Bill Posey Campaign. The normal walk, wave, and mailer schedule is below, but we also have two BIG projects we need your help with.

Show Your Support: There are numerous events in the next few weeks that are open to the public - come on out, wear a Posey t-shirt or slap on a lapel sticker and support Bill at these fun events! Let Ashley know if you can help hand out literature or man our table! Hope to see you there!

• Sat. 10/4 8-10am Kiwanis Club Hob Nob, Manatee Sanctuary Park, 701 Thurm Blvd., Cape Canaveral
• Monday 10/6 6-8pm Osceola Supervisor of Elections Voter Registration Tailgate, 2509 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy.
• Tuesday 10/7 5-8pm Melbourne Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce Hob Nob at the Brevard Zoo
• Tuesday 10/7 7-8:30pm Tiger Bay/Florida Today Candidate Forum at the Black Box Theater (in the rotunda), the King Center, corner of Post Road and Wickham Road, Melbourne.
• Friday 10/10 6pm-?? Melbourne Friday Fest along E. New Haven in Historic Downtown Melbourne.
• Sat. 10/11 10-4pm Viva Osceola Festival in Kissimmee at Lakefront Park in downtown Kissimmee

Phone Calls: Do you have 2 hours over the next 2 weeks to help get Bill a few extra votes?! If so, WE NEED YOU!

We have the names and phone numbers of NEW VOTERS who registered this summer. We'd like to call them and encourage them to support Bill.

We can e-mail you a list of local names and numbers you can call from home or you can come into our office on the Tuesday / Thursday work days and call from there. We will need about 10 volunteers to finish the list - CAN YOU HELP WITH THIS IMPORTANT PROJECT?!?!?!
