As a center for telecommunications and technology, Omaha has tremendous potential for economic growth.

As a center for telecommunications and technology, Omaha has tremendous potential for economic growth. In order for new technologies to be developed and applied quickly, Congress must remove anti-growth provisions from the Telecommunications Act. By encouraging more investment in broadband technology, we could create new jobs, while promoting rural development and business growth in less populous states. That is why I voted for the Communications Opportunity, Promotion and Enhancement Act of 2006 (COPE), which promotes the deployment of broadband networks and services.

America has the most industrious and capable workforce in the world. We can compete anywhere, at any time. I will continue to work to ensure that Congress is doing all that it can to encourage job creation.
