Issue Position

Consumer protection is an important aspect of maintaining confidence in the products we have come to rely upon in our daily lives.

Consumer protection is a particular concern of mine and I serve on the Commerce Trade and Consumer Protection Subcommittee (CTCP) in the House of Representatives. As a member of the CTCP subcommittee I am dedicated to ensuring the quality and safety expected in a particular good or service.

For example, the CTCP has investigated contact lens sales over the internet. We also set standards for movie content shown in homes, including violent and explicit video games.
