Udall Votes for Middle Class Tax Relief

Press Release

Date: Sept. 24, 2008
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Tom Udall, D-N.M., released the following statement tonight in response to the president's national address on the economy:

"President Bush committed to working on a bipartisan basis to make dramatic changes to his proposal. He said that he is willing to change his plan, as I have suggested, to protect taxpayers and ensure no corporate CEO gets a golden parachute. He said that he will also include a recommendation that I have been advocating for to create a bipartisan oversight board that will protect taxpayer money from fraud and waste. We need more details to ensure that this plan is sound and will truly protect American taxpayers. As this process continues, I will continue to work across the aisle on behalf of New Mexicans to ensure the president backs up his words with action."
