Issue Position: Second Amendment

I have been an ardent supporter for an individual's right to keep and bear firearms. During my time in public office I have consistently opposed legislation which would restrict this freedom and I intend to continue doing so in the future.

Our Founding Fathers laid out the right for all Americans to keep and bear arms in the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. Many of the measures proposed in the name of gun control are based upon the theory that gun owners are not law-abiding citizens. The truth is that the vast majority of gun owners are model citizens who are simply exercising their constitutional rights.

That is why I not only oppose legislation infringing the right to bear arms, but am also a proud cosponsor of HR 861 , HR 1399 , and HR 4900 . These three bills would guarantee the rights of gun owners. I will continue to uphold the Second Amendment during my representation in Congress.
