"Mike believes in quality education for all"

Mike is a supporter of initiatives that increase federal spending on public education and put in place school accountability measures. He knows that a sound educational foundation is vital to the future success of every child and of our country. He will continue to promote legislation that increases accountability and makes our public school system better.

Making higher education more affordable and accessible for all students is also a top priority for Congressman Turner. He has consistently supported legislation that would cut interest rates on student loans in half over the next four years, and has also voted to increase the number of Pell Grant Awards for low-income students. Additionally, Mike supports education programs such as ISUS, which provides education and workforce development for some of the regions neediest students.
