Schuring Speaks to North Canton Hoover Students
Kirk Schuring, 16th Congressional candidate, told North Canton Hoover High School students Friday afternoon "the nation is at a crossroads and Washington needs fresh ideas" during a television taping of Government Matters.
Schuring, Republican-Jackson Township, handled questions from moderator Chris Thomas and Hoover students during the 40-minute segment that will air on channel 23 and On Demand channel 501.
Schuring fielded questions about school funding, health care, the economy, trade and nuclear proliferation.
He told students that "American ingenuity and productivity" are vital to our nation's success.
Junior Britany Bogley appreciated the question and answer session.
"We need to know the facts on these important issues," she said.
Classmate Justin Darrah liked Schuring's answers on energy and transportation.
"These are important issues because of the price of gas. This was a good event," he said.
Schuring said he developed "a deep devotion to the country while in the private sector" and sought public office to make things better. He encouraged students to become engaged in their community.
