Sen. Cravins Applauds Gov. Jindal's Pay Raise Veto

Senator Don Cravins Jr., Democratic Congressional Candidate in Louisiana's 7th District, released the following statement regarding Governor Bobby Jindal's veto of the legislative pay raise:

"I applaud Gov. Jindal for making the same decision I did, and standing up for the people of Louisianaby denying this outrageous increase in pay. I voted against pay raise legislation because in these trying economic times, I could not rightfully award myself a raise while so many people in our community are struggling to make ends meet.

"My opponent in this race has taken $7,500 in pay raises, even though he opposed raising the minimum wage. Not only is it fiscally irresponsible of Rep. Boustany to raise his pay in these trying economic times, but his vote to raise his own pay and not increase the salary of hard working people goes against our values here in Southwest Louisiana. I look forward to being the voice in Congress who speaks for the people of the 7th Congressional District, and not against them."
