Craig Says Idahoans Deserve Full Details on 'Critical Issue'

Idaho Senator Larry Craig today urged Idahoans to visit his official Senate website and review the detailed information and resources he has compiled there on the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act currently before the Congress. On Monday, the House of Representatives defeated the bill by a vote of 205 to 228, and it is unclear how and in what form the economic rescue issue again will be considered in the House or Senate.

Craig's website address for the economic rescue details is: http://craig.senate.gov/hottopics

The website compilation includes: the actual legislative language of the Emergency Economic Stabilization, highlights of each section of the bill and Senator Craig's September 26 editorial on the rescue plan.

"This is one of the most important votes I will cast as Idaho's Senator," Craig said about the issue intended to ease the credit crunch in the nation's financial institutions which is impacting the lives of families and small businesses across the country. "I want everyone to visit my website to learn as much as they can about it. Since it has burst into the news, there has been a lot of misinformation disseminated, and I hope the resources will provide accurate and honest answers to Idahoans' questions.

"Like you, I'm continuing to gather information and study the details in order to fully understand the problem, and proposed legislative solutions, and I will be updating my website. I want to hear from you. Idahoans may register their views to me on the rescue plan or any other subject by emailing me via my web page, or calling or visiting my Idaho or Washington offices."
