Latta Statement On Continuing Resolution

Press Release

Date: Sept. 25, 2008
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) made the following statement after voting for the continuing resolution that will fund the federal government through March 2009.

"The continuing resolution contains important provisions that will provide necessary programs and funding to run our nation. Homeland security, national defense, and disaster relief funding are just a few of the important programs contained within the resolution.

I am also proud to announce that $2 million in funding for the Ohio Army National Guard Camp Perry Training Site in Port Clinton was also included in the resolution to build an 80-bed barracks facility. Camp Perry serves as an important training facility for the Ohio National Guard and host to national shooting matches. This funding will provide much needed improvements to ensure our soldiers have the best facilities possible.

The resolution also contained an important loan program for our nation's automotive industry. This loan program will directly benefit domestic automobile manufactures as they continue to work on modernizing their production facilities and producing more fuel-efficient vehicles."
