Press Release

Date: Sept. 29, 2008
Location: Washington D.C.

Washington, Sep 30 - Recognizing the serious condition of the U.S. economy and its implications for the American people, Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) is staying in Washington, D.C., and working with leadership on both sides of the aisle, to craft a bipartisan solution that will help stabilize the economy and protect America's families and job security.

"As we work to find a bipartisan solution for this crisis, the stakes are high," said Bono Mack. "People's jobs, retirement security, life savings and homes are on the line. It's time to put politics aside to deal with the very real and serious problems we are facing.

"I have heard the concerns of individuals throughout California's 45th District, and I look forward to working with my colleagues in Congress to get this right. We need to find a meaningful, bipartisan solution that will protect American taxpayers, bring confidence and stability back to our markets, and ensure that hardworking Americans are the ones who benefit. It is vital that we act quickly and decisively - and in a way that puts the needs of America's families first."
