Alexander Statement on President's Announcement of Troop Reductions in Iraq

U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, today released
the following statement regarding President Bush's announcement of troop reductions
in Iraq:
"Today's announcement by President Bush that approximately 8,000 troops
currently deployed in Iraq will return home by early next year is further
affirmation that our servicemen and women are successfully carrying out their
missions in Iraq and making the world a safer and more secure place for future
generations," Alexander said.
"I am sure this announcement brings a renewed hope to military families in
Louisiana that their loved ones will return home soon."
