Hello Friends!

This past week has been a very humbling one for me. I've been honored with two great awards. First, the Police Benevolent Association has presented me with their first ever Lifetime Achievement Award. In fact, they even named the award after me! All future recipients will receive the Bill Posey Lifetime Achievement Award. I was able to meet with officers in Brevard, Osceola, and Indian River Counties and I really can't thank them enough for this great honor.

On Monday, the Associated Industries of Florida presented me with one of their Champion for Business awards at a reception in Palm Beach Gardens for my strong support of the space industry in Florida. It is wonderful to see that Florida's business community recognizes how important Space is to our economy and is committed to bringing more private space flight companies to Florida.

Very humbly yours,
Bill

Senator Posey Honored by the Police Benevolent Association

Representatives of area law enforcement recently gathered to honor
State Senator Bill Posey for his many years of service fighting for public safety. The Florida Police Benevolent Association, representing over 36,000 sworn law enforcement officers across the state, presented Senator Posey with the first ever PBA "Lifetime Achievement Award" for his untiring efforts in support of police, corrections, and probation officers.

"Few public figures can match the energy and dedication of Bill Posey when it comes to fighting for law enforcement officers and their families," said Coastal Florida PBA President Vince Champion. "Bill Posey was always there to protect us and our families while we protected the public. We owe him a deep debt of gratitude."

As a State Senator, Bill Posey sponsored and passed the James Weaver Act that doubled the death benefit for officers killed while conducting traffic stops and the legislation also extended health insurance coverage for survivors.

"This is typical Bill Posey, taking a tragedy and making something positive happen for the families of officers in the future," said PBA's Vince Champion. "When Bill Posey sees a need, he fills it, no matter how long the journey may be."

Besides the Weaver Act, Senator Posey was a vocal supporter of increased retirement and health benefits for officers and he actively championed PBA causes while serving in both the Florida House and Senate.

"We will miss Bill Posey's leadership in our state capitol and wish him the very best," said Champion. "He has earned our trust, respect and gratitude."

Fundraising Update

I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has contributed to my Congressional campaign. After a successful second quarter and a great fundraiser in Indian River County last week, we have now officially raised over a half million dollars for this campaign!

I cannot begin to thank you all enough. This money is crucial to get OUR message out to the voters. In fact, we are getting ready to launch my first commercial. You can preview the ad on my website - www.billposey.com.

Things like commercials and mail pieces are very important not only for getting our message across, but they also help us stay on the offensive. The national Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has already announced they are hitting the airwaves to attack Republicans in two other Florida districts. I want voters to know MY record, and MY position, not the wild attacks from DC Democrats.

So despite your very generous efforts, we can't stop now. We must continue to raise money and get our message out.

Again, thank you so much to all who have contributed to my campaign. I couldn't do this without your support! If you'd like to make a campaign contribution, please click on the link to the left.
