Arizona Second Congressional District Newsletter

February 2008

Dear Friend,

I want to take this space to thank all the wonder supporters that have come forward in the last weeks to share their experience and wisdom in our combined effort to unseat this embarassing excuse for a congressman, Trent Franks. Together we will succeed!

Also, make a contribution to Thrasher for Congress at www.thrasherforcongress,org/contribute then go to Project VoteSmart and find the voting record of Trent Franks. I am sure you will find a Bill on an Issue that you feel everyone should know about (there are many from which to choose from). Send it to us for our next newsletter. Thanks!

Right to Life?

Once again, thanks to Trent Franks and his cronies, Shaddig and Flake, the House fell 15 Trent Franksvotes short of the two-thirds majority needed to override Bush's veto of HR 3963, the bill to reauthorize and expand the Children's Health Insurance Program. Franks' consistent support of King George and refusal to show compassion and understanding for children clearly underlines Franks' insincerity and suspicious priorities. He continually champions unborn children's right to life while denying a right to life and health for children already born.

Unlike my opponent, I believe that the sanctity of life does not end at birth. I believe that being born does not disqualify people from the right to life.
Now is the time to say "NO" to irresponsibility. Now is the time to say "NO" to hypocrisy. Now is the time to say "NO" to Trent Franks.

The challenges that face America are great; the choice facing voters is obvious. It is time to return our congressional seat to the people it is supposed to serve, end this tragedy and begin to get OUR FAIR SHARE. Join me and let's march forward to a better America for Americans.

Death by Deployment?

Army Reports Rising Suicide Rate

In a report recently released by the US Army, suicides among soldiers may have increased as much as 20% due to long deployments in Iraq and Afganistan affecting relationships back home. The data, released at a news conference by army psychiatric consultant Colonel Elsbeth Ritchie of the Army's Surgeon Generals Office, also showed that more than 2,000 soldiers had tried to take their own lives or injure themselves in 2007, compared with fewer than 1,500 the previous year.

This war that is supported by Trent Franks and has driven our finest men and women to end their own lives is not moral. It is time to elect leadership that will return integrity and self-esteme to America.

Join the Thrasher for Congress Campaign today and give Arizona's newest Congressman the ability to end this war honorably.
