CARNEY PRESENTS FUNDING FOR HONESDALE MAIN STREET ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Congressman Christopher P. Carney presented a check to the Greater Honesdale Partnership (GHP) for $300,000. The money is a federal appropriations request secured by Congressman Carney's office.

"I am pleased to announce $300,000 for the Greater Honesdale Partnership," said Congressman Carney. "This money will go toward a ‘bricks & mortar' project which will help the GHP better serve the greater Honesdale area. I am proud to secure funds that will invest in Northeast and Central Pennsylvania so that our cities and towns will continue to grow."

Tom Fasshauer, President of the Greater Honesdale Partnership, said, "We applaud Congressman Carney's efforts. Honesdale is a wonderful town and we realize that its up to us to make sure it says that way."

Frederick Eck, the Treasurer of the Greater Honesdale Partnership, said, "This money will enhance the downtown Honesdale image, bringing more tourists, more visitors and more business to this town. This is one of the most exciting things that's happened to downtown Honesdale."
