Congressman Shuster's Statement on the Seventh Anniversary of the September 11th Attacks

Congressman Bill Shuster released the following statement in recognition of the seventh anniversary of the September 11th attacks:

"Seven years ago, Osama bin Laden and his followers launched an attack that they believed would deal a crippling blow to the United States and the West. They failed. Instead of tearing the American people apart, the events of September 11th galvanized our nation.

The brave passengers of Flight 93 who launched the first counter-attack against the terrorists proved that we would not be defeated. We were humbled by their courage, and their sacrifice helped us come together under our common bonds of citizenship, freedom, and liberty to stand
resolved against the perversity of Al-Qaeda.

Our thoughts and prayers today are with the families still grieving over their loss. Our thoughts and support also goes out to our brave men and women in uniform who are on the offensive throughout the world to defeat the virus of Islamic radicalism and the threat of jihadist terrorism."
