Hulshof Wins Republican Nomination
Strong performance establishes momentum for the general election
Missouri Republicans have chosen Kenny Hulshof as their nominee for governor. Hulshof defeated challenger Sarah Steelman Tuesday and now moves on to face Democrat nominee Jay Nixon in November.
"Republicans are optimistic and we believe Missouri's best days are ahead of us," Hulshof said. "I am humbled by the support we have received throughout this campaign. I am honored to be the Republican nominee and I look forward to sharing our positive message for Missouri's future."
Hulshof has put forth policy proposals dealing with ethics in government, job growth, crime, property tax relief, and pro-life issues. Hulshof will be spending the coming months discussing these important issues in addition to increased access to affordable healthcare and making sure Missouri's students have access to a world-class education.
"The challenges that lie ahead for Missouri will require new ideas and innovative solutions," said Hulshof. "The failed policies of the past are not what Missouri needs. I look forward to a campaign that focuses not on personalities, but on solutions and goals for our state."
"I am confident that Republicans in Missouri will unite around our common sense of purpose and work together toward our common goal of moving Missouri forward."
