MAKING ENGLISH OUR OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
Pete King has consistently sponsored the National Language Act, which would make English our official language and end federal bilingual programs. The United States is a nation of immigrants who are proud of their cultures and traditions. But Pete knows that the English language is the glue which binds us together. As Theodore Roosevelt said: "we have room for but one language, the language of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, the language of the Declaration of Independence" - the English language.
