Issue Position: Cuba

We should not change or weaken the trade embargo until Cuba makes real democratic changes and frees political prisoners. I believe that we should support dissidents on the Island that are working for change and are willing to risk their lives to bring democratic changes to Cuba. But I also want accountability - we need to ensure that the federal dollars reach their intended destination.

I believe strongly that our government should encourage family reunification, not prevent it. I believe that people-to-people contact will help bring about true change on the Island. Cuban-American families should be able to visit their family on the Island, and help them financially, as well.
