Lankford to Davis, Stop Trying to Hide

Press Release

Date: June 5, 2008
Location: Franklin, TN

In a release today, Fourth Congressional District Candidate Monty Lankford again questioned why Lincoln Davis was dodging the question of who he intended to support for President. Senator Hillary Clinton, who won the Tennessee Presidential Primary in February, ended her campaign yesterday leaving only Barack Obama as the sole remaining democrat running for President.

"It has become almost comical that even after Senators McCain and Obama have clinched their parties' nominations, Lincoln Davis still can't decide who he intends to support for President of the United States. His constituents have spoken, his state has spoken, nearly all of his colleagues have spoken, yet Lincoln remains silent," said Lankford.

"I suppose we shouldn't be surprised. It was Lincoln Davis after all, who was the only member of the Congress to vote "present" on the critical FISA vote earlier this year. While America looks for leadership, it appears that Lincoln is only looking out for himself. If Lincoln thinks that waiting until the last minute to reveal his preference for President will keep his liberal tendencies a secret, well then he had better think again. Lincoln can run, but he can't hide the fact that he has become one of liberal Nancy Pelosi's strongest allies in Washington," added Lankford.

Monty Lankford and his wife, Shalia, live on a farm in Franklin and have five grown children and five grandchildren. Growing up in a family of preachers, Monty worked his way through Free Will Baptist Bible College as a welder. He founded his own company, TLC Medical, a medical supply company, in 1996. TLC Medical currently has 12 locations across Tennessee, 5 of which are in the Fourth District, serving thousands of patients and employing approximately 50 people
