LaRocco Wants Nation-Building in America

U.S. Senate candidate Larry LaRocco wants to rebuild America.

Idahoans know firsthand why Americans need to help America. The state's transportation system has suffered as the power elite, such as Lt. Gov. Jim Risch, have closed their eyes and tried to wish away their leadership responsibilities.

"We've spent the last five years rebuilding Iraq," LaRocco said. "But instead of investing our taxpayer dollars in nation-building programs abroad, I want a nation-building program right here at home." (For more information visit, www.laroccoforsenate.com)

Idaho's governor is traveling the state to get input about the $240 million funding gap for the transportation system. Of course, if his fellow leaders, like Risch, had done their jobs, Otter could turn his attention toward skyrocketing health care costs, or other issues crucial to middle class, working families.

"Nation-building means making sure Americans have everything from good health and adequate wages to safe roads and bridges," LaRocco said.

LaRocco has a record of making sure Idaho is not forgotten.

As a Congressman, he found funding to replace the decrepit Time Zone Bridge at Riggins and made the Bryden Canyon Road project in Lewiston a reality. LaRocco started the Hiawatha Trail near Avery and he pushed to fund the SuperFund site in the Silver Valley, which has revitalized that area. He also pressed to keep the Port of Lewiston functioning.

This kind of economic stimulus package—investing in infrastructure and public works—builds communities and drives economic development. This kind of economic stimulus builds a nation.
