Congressman Phil Hare (D-IL) today released the following statement after the House successfully overrode President Bush's ill-advised veto of the 2008 Farm Bill.
"The 2008 Farm Bill maintains a strong safety net for Illinois family farmers while making historic investments in renewable energy, nutrition and conservation. Whether it's through food aid, farm subsidies, or rural economic development, this legislation will serve as the lifeblood for thousands of my constituents.
"I am proud that the House overrode the President's misguided veto. I will continue to fight to ensure that farmers in my district have every resource they need."
