Klein Unveils Five Star Veterans' Priority Plan

U.S. Representative Ron Klein (FL-22) today stood with South Florida veterans to unveil his Five Star Veterans' Priority Plan. The plan outlines five critical legislative priorities for our nation's veterans. They are:
- Mandate Full Funding for Veterans' Healthcare
- Eliminate the Backlog for Disability Benefits
- Revive the GI Bill for the 21st Century
- Strengthen Benefits for National Guard and Reserves
- Guarantee Health Benefits for Returning Service Members
"Whether you support the war in Iraq or not, we can all agree we must support our returning
servicemen and women with access to the full range of benefits they have earned," Klein said.
"These American heroes laid their lives on the line for our country, and it is time for ‘support our troops' to be more than just a slogan. To really support our troops and their families, we have to ensure that when they come home, they have access to quality mental and physical health care and the educational benefits they deserve. It is, quite simply, the right thing to do."

Klein's plan was developed in conjunction with local veterans and national leaders, such as
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Veteran's Affairs Committee Chairman Bob Filner. It
was unveiled for the first time this morning at Veteran's Park in Delray Beach, where Klein was
joined by veteran's groups including the Korean War Veterans; the Jewish War Veterans; the
American Legion; Vietnam Veterans of America; Disabled American Veterans and the
American Ex-POWs.

Attached are full details of Congressman Klein's Five Star Plan.
