State's Largest Public Interest Group Convenes in Quad Cities To Make Endorsements for February 2008 Primary Election

"Citizen Action/Illinois Endorses Barack Obama for President of the United States of America"
On the evening of Friday, November 16, 2007, the Citizen Action/Illinois Policy Council convened in Rock Island to make endorsements in the February 2008 Primary Elections.

Citizen Action/Illinois endorses the U.S. Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama for President of the United States of America.

The Council voted to make the following endorsements for US Congress: Mark Pera-3rd, Danny Davis-7th, Jan Schakowsky-9th,Dan Seals-10th, Bill Foster-14th, and Dick Versace-18th.

The Progressive Action Project, the state PAC of Citizen Action/Illinois, also today announced its endorsements for the primary elections in February 2008.

State Senate: Willie Delgado-2nd, Heather Steans-7th, and Don Harmon-39th.

State Representative: Kenneth Sawyer-5th, Karen Yarbrough-7th, Eddie Winters-10th, Lou Lang-16th,Julie Hamos-18th, Barbara Flynn Currie-25th, Monique Davis-27th, David Miller-29th, Al Riley-38th, Karen May-58th, Eddie Washington-60th, Michael Boland-71st, and Jehan Gordon-92nd.

Cook County State's Attorney - Larry Suffred in 42nd Ward Democratic Committeeman Chicago - John Corrigan Citizen Action/Illinois is a coalition of community activists from across the state who pledged, "to make the voices of everyday citizens heard in the councils of state and federal government, as well as the corporate board rooms." Citizen Action/Illinois is the largest consumer watchdog group in Illinois, and also one of the most effective vehicles for progressive political involvement in our state.
