LEAKED TSA EMAIL A "DISGRACE" SAYS ROSKAM

Congressman Peter J. Roskam (R-IL) today issued the following statement in response to an Associated Press report claiming a top Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) official tipped off airport screeners before internal safety tests were conducted:

"There is no logical reason to tip off screeners other than to 'cook the books' to improve their poor testing numbers. This is a disgrace to the TSA and completely unacceptable. This incident further undermines the confidence of our nation's security system. Americans are required to trust TSA when they travel. This raises serious questions about the random testing process. TSA must deal with this promptly and aggressively."
