Urges Arkansans to sign-up, see which Medicare plan is best for them

U.S. Representative John Boozman (R-AR) today urged all Arkansas seniors to sign-up for the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan which best fits their needs. The enrollment period begins November 15 and runs through December 31, 2007.

"As a health care professional, I encourage every senior in Arkansas to review their prescription coverage every year," Boozman said. "It is important for Arkansas seniors to have the proper coverage they need."

Boozman encouraged seniors, and their families, to review their current plan with their medical providers to see which plan fits their particular needs.

"Because plans change every year, it is possible for seniors to save even more with a different plan," Boozman said. "It is important for seniors to go over their options with their health care provider to determine what is best for them. I also call on the families of seniors remind them of the enrollment window through the end of the year. This is a team effort, and we can all pitch in to help our parents and grandparents."

Rep. Boozman has published a worksheet seniors can fill out and go over with their doctors. It can be found at boozman.house.gov.

"In the age of the Internet, there is no reason why we can't get this important information in the hands of Arkansas's seniors," Boozman said.
