Representative Bob Latta Signs Pledge to Oppose Any and All Efforts to Raise Taxes if Elected to Congress
Today State Representative Bob Latta, candidate for Congress in Ohio's 5th Congressional District, signed the American's for Tax Reform (ATR) pledge to protect the tax payers.
"The federal government is too big, spends too much and taxes us too often. I'll support tax relief so families can keep more of what they earn. I oppose any and all efforts to increase the income tax or any efforts to eliminate deductions or credits", said Latta.
Latta continues, "For over a decade I have been a leader in the Ohio Legislature on working to eliminate the Death Tax. I am most proud that I have been named Watchdog of the Treasury' three times. I will take this same commitment for lower taxes and limited government to the halls of Congress."
Latta announced his candidacy today, and signing the ATR tax pledge was done immediately upon announcing his candidacy. Latta resides in Wood County with his wife Marcia, and their daughters Elizabeth and Maria.
ATR was founded in 1985 by Grover Norquist at the request of President Reagan. Since 1986, ATR has sponsored the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, a written promise by legislators and candidates for office that commits them to oppose any effort to increase the federal income taxes on individuals and businesses.
