HERSETH SANDLIN RECEIVES NATIONAL FARMERS UNION'S GOLDEN TRIANGLE AWARD

Today, U.S. Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin was presented with the Golden Triangle Award, the National Farmers Union's highest award for government service which is given annually to members of Congress who have demonstrated outstanding leadership on issues affecting family farmers and ranchers.

Rep. Herseth Sandlin, who serves on the House Agriculture Committee, said, "I'm proud to work on behalf of South Dakota's farmers and ranchers in Congress. Earlier this year, I helped write and pass a Farm Bill from the House that includes South Dakota priorities like maintaining the safety net for agricultural producers, increased investment in bioenergy and conservation programs, and my amendment to delay the closure of Farm Service Agency offices. Of course, now is no time to rest on our accomplishments, and I will continue to work to ensure that this Farm Bill gets sent to the President and signed into law."

Rep. Herseth Sandlin has received the Golden Triangle Award three times, once in each full year she has served in Congress.
