ROSKAM STATEMENT ON THE SIXTH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11
Washington, Sep 11 - Congressman Peter J. Roskam (R-IL) released the following statement today, the 11th of September, 2007:
"On the sixth anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001, we are once again reminded of the strength, compassion and commitment to freedom the American people demonstrated on that tragic day.
"The American spirit of hope and optimism has made our country the envy of most, and the enemy of a few. Past generations have confronted and defeated oppression and aggression, and so this generation will triumph over the current incarnation of extremism and intolerance.
"More than 3,000 brave Americans lost their lives six years ago. Some of our best and brightest continue to fight extremism around the world. Let us this day honor those lost on September 11, 2001, and those who have since sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
"We must never forget."
