CONGRESSMAN DAN BURTON CONDEMNS HOUSE DEMOCRATS FOR SUPPORTING ILLEGAL ALIENS AT THE EXPENSE OF AMERICAN TAXPAYERS AND SENIORS

Congressman Dan Burton [R-IN-05] issued the following statement regarding House Democrats' unprecedented efforts to insure illegal aliens receive taxpayer-funded health care, housing and employment benefits.

Said Burton, "I strongly condemn House Democrats for their blatant pandering to illegal aliens. Earlier this week, the Democrats pushed through legislation to take billions from the Medicare Trust Fund, force millions of seniors off of Medicare Advantage, and tax every private health insurance plan in America, in order to provide Medicaid benefits to illegal aliens. In addition, last night - for the first time in the 218 year history of the House of Representatives - they unilaterally overturned a vote that would have stopped taxpayer money from going to illegal aliens for housing and employment benefits. It is reprehensible to raid Medicare at the expense of millions of low-income seniors and to flout the will of the House of Representatives to provide taxpayer money to people in this country illegally. House Democrats should be ashamed of themselves."
