Heller's Statement on the Senate's Vote on Immigration Reform
Today, U.S. Congressman Dean Heller (R-Carson City) made the following statement regarding the U.S. Senate voting against moving forward with consideration of the comprehensive immigration reform (S.1639).
"I am deeply opposed to amnesty and it is clear that the majority of Nevadans and Americans are also opposed to rewarding those who have entered our country illegally. The Senate's immigration reform bill is deeply flawed legislation that would be a tremendous burden on American taxpayers. The vote against this legislation was the right thing to do for our country," said Heller.
