PICKERING PRAISES COMCAST ANNOUNCEMENT
Today, Congressman Chip Pickering praised Comcast for locating a new call center in Mississippi.
Pickering said, "Comcast began in Mississippi and over the years has continued its partnership with the Magnolia State. Today's announcement that Comcast is locating a new call center here will bring hundreds of good, high-paying jobs to central Mississippi. This provides an example and model to others that Mississippi has the infrastructure, quality of life, and workforce necessary to accommodate any company looking to move or expand their facilities."
Pickering noted that his father, retired Judge Charles W. Pickering Sr., now an attorney with Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz in Jackson, was the first counsel for Comcast in Mississippi after it was founded in 1963 in Tupelo.
"Comcast will provide a new generation of Mississippians safe, high-paying, and reliable jobs and contribute to an enhanced quality of life for our communities," Pickering concluded.
Congressman Chip Pickering represents Mississippi's Third Congressional District and serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. This is his sixth term.
