SEN. SAXBY CHAMBLISS (R-GA): I too want to thank the leader for bringing this issue to a higher profile. We as legislators are here to do very important work, and we do important work that affects people's lives every day. Certainly the executive branch does work that affects people's lives every day. But the one branch of our government, as determined by the framers of the Constitution, that does affect the lives of people every single day in a very personal way is the judicial branch.

And the framers of the Constitution intended it to be that way and intended for the process to work in an unobstructed manner.

And unfortunately, over the last several months, we have seen the Democrats continue to obstruct the judicial process, as unintended by the Constitution of this great country.

Over the next couple of days, we're going to be able to highlight the fact that that obstruction is taking place, and while I think most of the American public understands it somewhat, we're going to have the opportunity to explain to the American people exactly what the Democrats are doing and how it does affect their daily lives every single day of their lives.

So, I'm excited about the opportunity to make our case to the American people. And I certainly hope that at the end of the day on Friday, that the Democrats will come around to reality and understand what our Constitution is all about and let the process work the way it's intended to work.
