ENSIGN APPLAUDS BUSH FOR SIGNING PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION BAN

Washington, D.C. - Senator John Ensign today released the following statement in support of President Bush's signing of a law banning partial birth abortion:

"Today the President has ended a gruesome and heinous practice that called for a doctor to partially deliver a newborn before ending its life. I was proud to support the partial birth abortion ban when it was voted on in the Senate, and I'm extremely pleased that President Bush has signed it into law."
