Dakota Roots Adds Dynamic Web Component

Press Release

Date: April 6, 2007
Location: Pierre, SD

Dakota Roots continues to expand its features to meet the growing needs and interests of both businesses and job seekers. An additional service has been added to www.DakotaRoots.com - a dynamic Web page titled "Featured Business Partner."

"This component provides further exposure for businesses and acts as a tool for job seekers in researching their potential employer," said Gov. Mike Rounds. "Through a regular rotation, partners will have their turn to share information and highlights about their company. A direct link to their current employment opportunities will also be included."

Specific businesses are not the only focus. "Our LaborMarketInformationCenter has identified the fastest growing industries through 2014. We have also focused on the occupations which will be most in demand. Our goal is to educate job seekers and students of the potential openings so they are well prepared to fill our workforce," said Labor Secretary Pam Roberts. Statistics and projections of these industries and occupations will also be included in the rotating schedule.

Dakota Roots is a joint partnership between the Department of Labor, the Governor's Office, and the Department of Tourism and State Development. It aims to connect former South Dakotans with career opportunities in the state in order for them to return - to live, grow and build. For more information, visit www.DakotaRoots.com.
